Drywall makes all the difference!

Image
This week was drywall, mud and taping week at the Burritt Homestead. It's been a little chilly this week, and it's taking a little longer for the mud to dry, but this weekend we hope to have textured walls and then paint!  We picked up our ceiling fans, bathroom and kitchen faucets, kitchen sink, stove and oven and microwave.  Johnny found a beautiful mantel and has worked hard to clean and sand and oil it to perfection. He also collected some stones from the creek bed and we plan to use them on the fireplace. And made an awesome light fixture to hang in our entryway. This adventure has been equal parts fun, stressful and exciting. But there is definitely an end in sight to camper living. (At least until we can make it back up to the mountains)

Let's add a little insulation!

Not the most exciting post but a very important addition to a warm home!  We had spray foam insulation finished and we hope to see drywall going up soon! Buck approves!

I Spy a HOUSE!

This week I am attending classes in Ft Worth, so we will all be surprised at the progress in the house when I get home on Friday, but here is the progress so far. Things are moving very quickly right now, but everything will depend on supplies and workers going forward. It's such a welcoming sight when I come down the road and see our home taking shape!  Right now, we have the house framed out, electrical run and plumbing finished. Insulation should be next.  That is Johnny and my mother in law. She moved down right before Christmas and she is getting to enjoy the process with us.
